We have been entranced this year with hte prevalence of white flowers attached to a nondescript green bush which we have in abundance but have never made much of a point of stopping and admiring.

The common and garden Oliander has a rather exotic French name – laurier rose (Bay Rose) and this shrub is no exception – laurier thym (Bay Thyme). Family of the Bay tree.

Interestingly, I cannot find any reference to Bay Thyme in Google or other references – maybe it is a slang French name? Surely one of you 10,000 LSW readers can help?

the bush in the picture is called in Provence “laurier tin”, nothing in common with the thyme plant, but an adaptation of it latin name “viburnum tinus”.
