Why Simon Burrow?

 

I have many years experience, both in Australia and overseas, in the health and beauty, sales promotion, advertising, publishing and financial services industries.

A renowned all-round marketing strategist, I am best known for my pioneering CRM skills, conceiving and launching both the Clicks and Priceline ClubCard programs in South Africa and Australia respectively. These case studies were recognised by the Harvard Business School as being “some of the best programs of their type in the world”.

I was responsible for positioning Priceline into a dominant pharmacy brand, as well as developing the Musica brand into the largest music and entertainment retailer in the Southern Hemisphere. I also headed the launch team which introduced The Body Shop into South Africa, becoming the first corporate to achieve success in the KMPG social responsibility audit. I was responsible for leading the Private Label development over a wide range of product categories for both Clicks (South Africa), Priceline, House and Price Attack (Australia).

In the financial services area, I led the brand positioning during the world’s first de-mutualising of a Life Assurance company, and introduced financial services successfully to a major retailer.

Over the years, I have obtained extensive production knowledge, especially in the electronic media, and have been instrumental in numerous Direct Response Television campaign innovations. Latterly, I have been heavily involved in on-line marketing, catalogue and Search Engine Optimisation.

Having been fortunate to work in an international capacity, I have worked with many leading brands such as Tesco, Boots, CVS and Shoppers Drug Mart as well as communications giants such as the STW Group and Redwoods.
